Japanese taxi automatic doors
I have never seen automatic taxi doors in another country. When you get in a taxi in Japan you don't have to open the door yourself. You just wait beside the rear door until taxi driver opens it.
Why Nippon is called Japan
Native Japanese call their country Nippon, instead of "Japan". Japan is English name and originate from Zipangu,as Marco Polo call so. Actually, some of Japanese don't know why Nippon is called "Japan" in English. If they hear the reason, they can understand it easily. It means that t is hard to understand for foreigners. But I try it.
Taxi fare
Taxis are useful for tourists all over the world, but Japanese taxis are more expensive than in other Asian countries.
Even you only use a taxi for short trip, you will need about 1,000 yen.
You can choose a low price taxis where the basic fare is between 500 yen and 680 yen.
But you can't always find 500 yen taxis.
Ladies only car
Tourists should know about two public rules before coming to Japan. These rules surprise not only foreign travelers, but also people from the Japanese countryside.
